Role-based Access Control

Network access control helps reduce cyber threats in two ways: role based access control and limiting the scope of malware. Role-based access control creates a safe context for every user to maintain their control over the server. Role-based access control also helps prevent data loss in two ways: protecting the data store on the Windows Server 2012 domain controllers from unauthorized changes, and securing disk access to the server and its services.

Minimum system requirements

The following table lists the minimum system requirements for Windows Server 2012 domains:

Distributed Log File System (DLF) authentication

By default, all Windows Server 2012 domain controllers support domain-joined workloads with a mix of desktop, client, and server roles.

You can configure DLF authentication on server1, server2, server3, and server4, but not on domain controllers. (DLF authentication is not enabled on the domain controllers).
